U-17 Women’s World Cup postponed to 2021 -FIFA.

Women Under 17 World Cup to be held in India in November, was postponed for three months, FIFA said on Tuesday, adding to a growing list of sports events affected by the pandemic.

The tournament, to play in five cities across the country will now begin on February 17 the governing body of football said.

India seeks to strengthen its international reputation as a host of the best sporting events after holding U17 World Cup men in 2017.


“All the host cities have put much effort and commitment to date, and we are pleased that the new dates will allow them to catch up and give a boost to the future,” the local committee organization said after FIFA announced.

FIFA also announced new dates for U-20 Women’s World Cup this year in Costa Rica and Panama. It will now be played January 20-6 February 2021.

The FIFA Futsal World Cup 2020 in Lithuania has been extended to September 12 next year.

Meanwhile, the 70th FIFA Congress, to be held in Addis Ababa, will be run as an online event on September 18th.
